Title:- Senior Data Modeler Location: Charlotte, NC Duration: 12+ Months Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Modeler to support the development and governance of an enterprise-wide Common Domain Model (CDM) for capital markets and investment banking data. The role will focus on establishing consistent business semantics and canonical data structures across Front Office, Risk, Finance, Operations, Regulatory Reporting, and Analytics.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision, scope, roadmap, and governance of an enterprise Common Domain Model.
• Define domain decomposition, bounded contexts, and canonical business entities.
• Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and canonical data models.
• Design cross-asset models covering products, trades, positions, allocations, payments, cash flows, and trade lifecycle events.
• Model parties, legal entities, accounts, agreements, settlement instructions, and reference data.
• Establish standardized identifiers, hierarchies, relationships, definitions, and business rules.
• Develop event-driven and state-based lifecycle models.
• Establish and enforce enterprise data modeling standards and governance processes.
• Manage metadata, business glossary, data lineage, and model documentation.
• Manage model versioning, controlled releases, and impact analysis.
• Define canonical-to-physical implementation patterns.
• Develop source-to-canonical mapping specifications and templates.
• Drive data model adoption across multiple applications and technology platforms.
• Identify and resolve conflicting business and data definitions across organizational teams.
• Support data harmonization across heterogeneous trading and post-trade platforms.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Trading, Risk, Operations, Finance, and Regulatory teams.
• Support analytical, AI/ML, and LLM use cases through semantic layers, curated datasets, and RAG-ready metadata.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience as a Data Modeler within investment banking, capital markets, broker-dealer, or financial services environments.
• Strong experience developing enterprise Common Domain Models and canonical data models.
• Strong knowledge of capital markets data and business processes.
• Experience modeling trades, positions, products, valuations, cash flows, and trade lifecycle events.
• Experience with parties, legal entities, accounts, books, agreements/CSA, settlement instructions, and reference data.
• Strong understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
• Experience with source-to-canonical mapping and data harmonization.
• Experience with data lineage, reconciliation, metadata, and data governance.
• Ability to lead data modeling workshops with business and technology stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of data architecture and enterprise data management practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ISDA Common Domain Model (CDM).
• Experience with FINOS or related financial-services data standards.
• Experience mapping internal data models to industry-standard canonical models.
• Experience with streaming and event-based data schemas.
• Experience with lakehouse and enterprise data warehouse physical models.
• Experience with API and message contract governance.
• Exposure to AI/ML, LLM, RAG, semantic layers, and AI-ready data architectures.
