The Strategic Advisor is a senior partner to the business area leadership team, responsible for shaping strategic direction, enabling growth, strengthening operational excellence, and ensuring cohesive execution across the portfolio. This role provides forward-looking insight, strategic counsel, and enterprise awareness to help the business area anticipate mission needs, align capabilities, and position teams for long-term success.
The Advisor serves as the connective tissue across strategy, growth, delivery, and modernization — enabling the business area to operate with clarity, alignment, and agility in a fast-evolving mission landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Advisory to the Business Area
• Partner directly with business area leaders to develop, refine, and operationalize strategic priorities and multi‑year plans.
• Maintain a forward-looking perspective on mission trends, customer direction, market dynamics, and enterprise initiatives.
• Bring structured thinking to ambiguous challenges, providing leadership with clear recommendations and strategic options.
• Support alignment to enterprise strategy frameworks such as VIA — Vision, Innovation, Acceleration — ensuring the business area is positioned for future growth.
Growth & Business Area Expansion
• Identify new growth pathways across the business area by analyzing mission demand signals, technology trends, and customer needs.
• Strengthen customer intimacy through strategic engagement planning, understanding key drivers, and supporting senior-level relationship strategies.
• Partner with Growth and BD teams to ensure strategic pursuits reflect business area priorities, mission alignment, and capability strengths — without serving as a capture lead.
• Surface opportunities for organic growth (new scope, modernization expansions, capability repositioning) within existing programs and accounts.
Operational Excellence Enablement
• Provide advisory support on improving delivery governance, risk awareness, performance management, and cross‑program alignment across the business area.
• Promote consistent operational frameworks, customer engagement discipline, and high-quality execution aligned with GDIT’s Program Delivery standards.
• Support leaders in solving operational challenges by connecting insights across programs, functions, and technical domains.
• Champion value‑creating behaviors such as customer intimacy, mission alignment, delivery excellence, and innovation.
Enterprise Alignment & Strategic Integration
• Connect business area priorities to enterprise initiatives, Centers of Excellence (COEs), growth campaigns, digital accelerators, and technology investments.
• Serve as the integrator across the business area, ensuring strategy, growth, and delivery teams operate with shared awareness and coordinated execution.
• Translate enterprise strategy into actionable guidance for the business area and ensure alignment to mission campaigns and strategic growth vectors.
Leadership Insight & Communication
• Prepare and deliver executive-ready insights, strategy briefs, and recommendations for business area leaders.
• Facilitate leadership discussions by providing context, decision-support analysis, and synthesis of complex information.
• Represent the business area in enterprise strategy forums, mission campaign discussions, and cross-division coordination sessions.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in strategy, operational leadership and complex program environments.
• Demonstrated ability to advise senior leaders, operate in ambiguity, and influence across organizational boundaries.
• Strong understanding of federal mission environments and enterprise strategy constructs.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and strategic analysis skills.
• US citizenship
• Able to hold TS/Q level clearance
